[Saba Sports News] According to multiple British media outlets including The Daily Telegraph and the BBC, the England national team will run a fitness assessment on Declan Rice. As a result, Thomas Tuchel faces a selection dilemma as he prepares for Saturday’s crucial fixture against Panama.
After England’s draw with Ghana, Rice left the stadium limping with a bandage wrapped around his left calf. He may require rest and will undergo further examinations by the team’s medical staff. There are currently no signs of a serious injury, and sources insist the issue is not a major concern. Even so, Tuchel has to weigh up whether it would be too risky to start him against Panama.
Rice was previously substituted off against Croatia due to hamstring nerve pain, so Tuchel may have to consider resting the Arsenal player for the Panama clash, despite the athlete claiming he is feeling fit.
In my view, given how pivotal Rice is to the side, Tuchel is clearly unwilling to take any unnecessary risks with him and must strike a balance between rotating his squad and chasing victory.
