[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the FA does not have jurisdiction over the Enzo Fernandez incident as it occurred during the Copa America. Recently, the FA announced that Rodrigo Bentancur would be banned for 7 matches and fined £100,000 for racist remarks about Son Heung-Min. In June, Bentancur jokingly stated on a program in Uruguay, “Son Heung-Min, or Son Heung-Min’s cousins, they all look the same.” It is worth noting that Enzo made similar remarks, but due to jurisdictional regulations, he escaped FA punishment. The FA cannot take action against Enzo because the incident occurred during the Copa America, while Bentancur was interviewed during private time, placing him under FA jurisdiction. Although Enzo plays in the Premier League, he was released to the national team by Chelsea, and the matches he played were outside the FA’s jurisdiction, falling under another governing body’s authority.
