[Saba Sports News] According to South Korean media reports, Seoul court will review the case involving a 20-something woman surnamed Yang who is suspected of extortion against Son Heung-min, and a 40-something man surnamed Im who is suspected of attempted extortion, at 2 PM local time on the 17th. Yang, who used to date Son Heung-min, is suspected of attempting to extort ₩3 billion. In June last year, she sent Son Heung-min an ultrasound photo claiming it was of her unborn child, threatening to reveal the fact that she was pregnant. Son Heung-min’s side accepted the extortion due to concerns that her false disclosure might negatively impact the player and the team. Afterward, Yang received ₩3 billion and wrote a commitment letter stating she would not disclose her pregnancy to the public. It was reported that after breaking up with Son Heung-min, Yang began dating Im, who later demanded ₩70 million from Son Heung-min’s side, claiming he knew she had received the money and threatened to expose it. After being extorted by Im for more than three months, Son Heung-min’s side released a statement stating they would no longer tolerate false claims and would respond strongly. Son Heung-min’s management company then reported the matter to the police, leading to the investigation. After the prosecutor’s office received the arrest warrant application from the police station, an arrest warrant was applied for. Subsequently, both individuals were formally arrested.
