[Saba Sports News] On the Sky Sports F1 podcast, racing analyst Ted Kravitz stated that Australian driver Jack Doohan is about to sign with the Alpine team, which has already become an open secret. Information shows that Doohan was a driver in the Red Bull Junior Team and became a reserve driver for Alpine this season. During the summer break, there were changes in the management of the Alpine team, with Oliver Oakes taking over the position of former team principal Bruno Famin. At that time, the Alpine team had already chosen a replacement for French driver Esteban Ocon. Therefore, the newly appointed team principal, Oakes, had no difficulty in deciding the team’s lineup for the next season. Oakes is very familiar with Doohan’s talent because Doohan had competed in the 2019 F3 Asian Championship for Oakes’ Hitech GP team and achieved a remarkable second-place finish. Previously, the Alpine team praised Doohan for his “tremendous” efforts in the simulator work for the team. In this sense, giving Doohan an F1 seat for 2025 is the best reward for his contributions to the project.
