[Saba Sports News] Renowned F1 veteran Martin Brundle, currently a presenter for SKY’s F1 program and a former driver for champion teams Williams, McLaren, and Benetton, analyzed on the latest episode that Lewis Hamilton is undergoing a completely different driving experience compared to Ferrari and Mercedes cars. Using the high-speed right turn 6 in Melbourne as an example, he noted telemetry data shows a significant difference in braking curves between Hamilton and Leclerc: Leclerc’s curve is smooth, while Hamilton shows a sharp peak elevated by one G. Brundle believes there are clear differences in characteristics between Mercedes and Ferrari cars, with Mercedes leaning towards higher downforce and a stiffer chassis setup, while Ferrari’s chassis is somewhat weaker in terms of pitch resistance, resulting in greater roll values under dynamic conditions. The oversteer exhibited in turn 6 requires Hamilton to make extra steering adjustments and additional braking interventions. It is evident that Hamilton is quickly adapting to this change.
