[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the FA (Football Association) aims to improve the situation of gender discrimination in football matches. The FA is reportedly working with the Women’s Football Association to address issues of gender discrimination in football. A recent study found that nearly 90% of women in the football industry have experienced discrimination. Additionally, another study indicated that 4 out of 5 female coaches have faced various forms of gender discrimination. On Monday, members of the Women’s Football Association board met with FA Chair Debbie Hewitt. Yvonne Harrison, a leader advocating for this initiative, discussed how they will implement systematic reforms. Harrison stated: “We can keep discussing anecdotes about women facing discrimination in football. But you can look at our survey report; if 89% of women in the industry have experienced such situations, then that’s not good. When you add the fact that 60% of these women took no action and 16% said their thoughts were not listened to at all, it creates a very unhealthy dialogue environment that needs systematic reform.”
