[Saba Sports News] NBA preseason games often mean little for predicting a team’s season, but Friday’s matchup between the Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards likely didn’t inspire confidence for either fan base.
The Wizards hosted the Raptors at Capital One Arena, marking the teams’ second preseason game in five days. Despite their recent familiarity, the game got off to a rocky start, with the teams combining for 19 turnovers in the first 12 minutes. Fouls outnumbered field goals 18 to 12 in the opening quarter, and even an air-balled free throw made an appearance.
The game unexpectedly aired on NBA TV due to technical issues with the Timberwolves-76ers broadcast, yet fans weren’t thrilled with the subpar play. With several Eastern Conference teams improving for the 2024-25 season, the Raptors and Wizards may find themselves chasing lottery picks.
