[Saba Sports News] According to recent reports, FIFA is currently testing a new, more intelligent VAR system. The system can alert assistant referees with an audio signal when a player is clearly offside, tracking players’ positions and ball movement to provide real-time automatic alerts when an offside occurs. However, most offside decisions still need verification before confirmation. The technology is not yet approved for use in all football competitions or the Premier League. Additionally, the system includes a video support system that allows coaches to challenge referee decisions. Each team can make two challenges per match, and if successful, the decision will be adjusted based on the replay. The editor believes that the continuous improvement of the VAR system reflects football’s adaptation to technological development. It helps improve the overall level and competitiveness of the sport, making matches fairer, more just, and more exciting, thus attracting more fans and participants.
