[Saba Sports News] According to the latest news from AC Milan, head coach Paulo Fonseca has been dismissed, and former Porto coach Sergio Conceicao will take over. Italian media reports that despite Fonseca having a contract with Milan, the club has the right to terminate it. If AC Milan fires Fonseca after less than six months, they only need to pay one year’s salary to terminate the contract. Fonseca took over as Milan’s head coach in June this year, signing a three-year contract worth €3.5 million per year. The reason for Fonseca’s dismissal is straightforward: the team’s performance in Serie A did not meet expectations. After a 1-1 draw at home against Roma in the 18th round, the team ranked 8th, 8 points behind the top four, making the prospects for next season’s Champions League qualification grim. This was a significant factor prompting the Milan management to make the coaching change.
