[Saba Sports News] Former Boston Celtics standout Robert Williams may be on the trade block again, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. On “The Hoop Collective,” Windhorst identified the Portland Trail Blazers center as a “very tradable” asset. He noted that if Williams is healthy, he could be a valuable piece for a contender.
Drafted by the Celtics in 2018, Williams became a key player for their 2022 NBA Finals run. Known for his defensive presence and energy, he was traded to the Blazers last October as part of the Jrue Holiday deal. After just six games with Portland, he underwent season-ending knee surgery.
With $25.7 million owed over the next two seasons, Williams could be a trade candidate for the rebuilding Blazers, especially as teams had shown interest in him last year.
