[Saba Sports News] After the F1 Qatar Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton was taken aback during a media interview when a reporter informed him that Max Verstappen had won the race. At that moment, the journalist asked Hamilton for his thoughts on the championship showdown in Abu Dhabi. When discussing the points gap, Hamilton first confirmed that Oscar Piastri was 16 points behind and then inquired why Verstappen was only 12 points behind. The reporter, also surprised, responded, “Because Verstappen won the race.” It was then that Hamilton reacted in shock, stating, “He won? I had no idea. I thought Piastri won.” Realizing his oversight, Hamilton still did not hold back in praising his former rival, acknowledging that Verstappen had been nearly flawless. At the same time, Hamilton took the opportunity to criticize the dullness of the race at the Lusail circuit. He revealed that he had proactively suggested to the FIA during the drivers’ meeting to expand the DRS zone to improve the almost impossible overtaking situation.
