[Saba Sports News] Recently, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton expressed his support for F1’s plan to introduce an 11th team in 2026. The Cadillac F1 team, set to feature drivers Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, is scheduled to join F1 in 2026. Hamilton called this move “fantastic.” Hamilton said: “I think we have a great mix on our grid. To have another team, I think it’s fantastic, and I think if a team wants to develop, you have to have experienced drivers, especially when it’s a brand-new team. You’ll have flavors from both Red Bull and Mercedes, with different knowledge and experience, and they’ll both be able to contribute that and help the team progress faster.” Also, FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem, announcing Cadillac’s entry in March, stated: “The expansion of the FIA F1 Championship to an 11th team in 2026 is a milestone. General Motors/Cadillac brings fresh energy, aligning with the new 2026 FIA regulations, heralding an exciting era for the sport. Their entry reinforces our mission to push boundaries in motorsport at the highest level.”
