[Saba Sports News] During the just-concluded friendly match, despite Denmark’s 2-1 victory over Northern Ireland, Rasmus Hojland, as the starting striker for Denmark and playing for Premier League side Manchester United, performed poorly. In the match, Hojland had 0 shots on goal, 0 successful duels, offside once, completed only 5 out of 9 passes, and touched the ball once in the opponent’s penalty area. After the game, even local journalists were critical of his performance. Some journalists gave him the lowest score, describing his technical performance as disappointing, with frequent fouls and no threat posed to opponents, questioning why he should start for the national team. Some even thought that Mathias Kvistgaarden from the substitute bench performed better than Hojland, going so far as to say “Kvistgaard did more work in 30 seconds than Hojland did in 65 minutes.” In my opinion, Hojland’s current difficulties stem from multiple factors. He needs to improve his technical skills and adjust his mentality, and the team should consider whether tactical adjustments are needed to better utilize his strengths.
