[Saba Sports News] Ja Morant has beccme the latest high-profile athlete to fall victim to burglary.
According to Jody Callahan of the Daily Memphian, the Memphis Grizzlies star’s home in Shelby County, Tennessee, was broken into on Dec. 19, 2024.
That same night, Morant was playing in a game against the Golden State Warriors in Memphis, where the Grizzlies secured a 114-93 victory.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed an active investigation into the burglary but has provided few additional details.
However, Morant’s case appears to be part of a troubling pattern, as numerous professional athletes have been targeted in recent months.
Notably, a break-in at the home of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow recently revealed potential ties to a South American crime syndicate after the alleged burglars made a critical misstep. NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have also been victims of home burglaries, alongside several NBA players.
Morant, a two-time All-Star, is averaging 20.7 points and 7.4 assists per game this season for the 36-18 Grizzlies. Amid ongoing trade rumors surrounding his future in Memphis, he now faces yet another challenge in dealing with the fallout from this costly home invasion.
