[Saba Sports News] Recently, the Kenya Badminton Association jointly held a handover ceremony with the Japan Badminton Association, during which the latter donated badminton sports equipment to the former. The donation includes 70 rackets, 180 shuttlecocks, 10 sets of uniforms, and 10 racket cases, aimed at addressing the equipment shortages faced by athletes nationwide, as badminton is still an emerging sport in Kenya. Peter Muchiri, President of the Kenya Badminton Association, stated: “Although badminton is still an emerging sport in Kenya, this event marks a significant increase in material support and international goodwill.” The editor believes that as an African country, Kenya’s badminton development is relatively weak. The support from the Japan Badminton Association helps bridge the regional gap in global badminton development, promotes the growth of badminton in Africa, and contributes to a more balanced and widespread development of the sport worldwide, which is a positive step toward achieving the goal of global badminton expansion.
