[Saba Sports News] Currently, there is a vacancy for the position of women’s singles coach at the Malaysian Badminton Association. Recently, in an interview with the media, the men’s singles coach of the Malaysian national team, Kenneth Jonassen, discussed this vacant position and recommended former Malaysian badminton star Iskandar Zulkarnain. Iskandar has extensive playing experience. He won second place in both the 2009 Asian Youth Championships and World Youth Championships in men’s singles, as well as five international challenge/series titles. He also achieved many accomplishments in team events, such as the bronze medal in the 2016 Thomas Cup. Such experience allows him to have a deep understanding of badminton techniques and matches, enabling him to impart his practical experience to female singles players and help them improve their technical skills and competitive abilities. The editor believes that as the director of single coaching at Malaysia’s national badminton team, Kenneth Jonassen takes the overall development of the team into full consideration. If he recommends Iskandar, it could be due to his professional capabilities, understanding of Malaysian badminton, and potential coaching talent.
