In an interview with The Telegraph, Jos urged the FIA to “seriously examine the composition of race officials” to see if there are signs of conflicts of interest. Clearly, Jos was implying that several race officials at the Mexican Grand Prix did not like Max Verstappen. The race officials for the Mexican F1 Grand Prix included former F1 driver Johnny Herbert, Tim Mayer (son of former McLaren team principal Teddy Mayer), lawyer Loik Buckland, and experienced Mexican official Alfonso Oros Trigros. In response, some fans noted that reviewing race footage shows Verstappen was reckless when he collided with Norris at Turn 7; this was due to Verstappen’s aggressive driving style, making Jos Verstappen’s accusations unfounded and deeming the race officials’ penalties reasonable.
