[Saba Sports News] Earlier, four-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen won the ninth round of the Nurburgring Endurance Series driving a GT3 car. On another track, his father, Jos Verstappen, alongside co-driver Renaud Jamoul, secured the Belgian Rally Championship title. Driving a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 car, Jos and Jamoul finished third in their class at the East Belgian Rally. This result was enough for them to clinch the championship title with one round still remaining. This is undoubtedly a significant achievement for this former F1 driver who switched to rallying a few years ago. Jos was very happy to win this championship, as it was a goal he and Jamoul had set for themselves. Jos stated: “We are certainly happy with this! This rally wasn’t the most fun for us because we opted for a safer tire strategy. In the end, we did have the right tires on the car, and the situation improved a bit, but we really slowed down in the final stage. We wanted to win the championship because that was the most important thing.”
