[Saba Sports News] Julia Gwen, captain of the German women’s national team, recently published her autobiography titled “Write Your Own Story.” In the book, she reveals her troubles, stating that she frequently receives harassing private messages. Gwen writes in her book: “I often receive naked photos sent by men, continuously flooding my social media inbox, and all from anonymous accounts. I immediately delete these photos and report those accounts, considering such behavior as severe harassment.” During her recovery from a cruciate ligament injury in 2023, Gwen received an invitation from Playboy magazine to take nude photos for the cover, but she chose to decline. The editor believes this highlights the security risks and regulatory gaps in the online environment. The anonymity allows harassers to easily hide their identities, emboldening them to act recklessly. This reflects a lack of protection for user information and behavioral oversight on online platforms.
