[Saba Sports News] The NBA world was shaken when the Minnesota Timberwolves traded Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. Randle, who struggled with injuries last season, is looking for a fresh start on a team now led by Anthony Edwards.
Along with a new chapter, Randle is sporting a new look, as seen in a picture shared by his mother, where he has a fresh low haircut and beard.
“New chapter, new haircut and beard!” Randle’s mom captioned the photo. “Proud of you, Ju! Let’s go Wolves!”
This signals Randle’s commitment to his new team, and the Timberwolves hope he will fit in after their Western Conference Finals run last season. While it was surprising to see Towns traded, it may have been inevitable due to the Timberwolves’ heavy financial investment in their frontcourt under the new CBA, especially after re-signing Naz Reid.
Randle, on an expiring contract, brings much-needed shot creation alongside Edwards and Mike Conley. With the addition of sharpshooter DiVincenzo, the Timberwolves aim to remain competitive, though it will be interesting to see if the trade pushes them forward or sets them back.
