[Saba Sports News] Recently, former German international Toni Kroos, on the podcast Einfach mal Luppen which he hosts with his brother Felix, strongly criticized the current German school education system. He emphasized the urgent need for personalized teaching in schools, arguing that more attention should be paid to students’ individual talents rather than enforcing uniform requirements for everyone. Kroos stated on the podcast: “The German school system urgently needs more support and integration with everyday life. I believe teaching should be more personalized. During the school education phase, more focus should be placed on each student’s talents. Ultimately, everyone is doing the same thing now. In Germany, everyone must learn a musical instrument. But some people might not even read music notes. You know very well they will never work in a music-related field. Yet you force them to spend three years learning an instrument. Why not let them spend that time doing something they are good at, have potential in, or are interested in?” It is worth noting that Kroos’s children currently attend an American school. He believes the American education system indeed places more emphasis on sports. Sports are allocated more time, and there, students’ talents are given more personalized attention during their school years.
