[Saba Sports News] According to Italian media reports, Lazio will restart the pre-match eagle release ceremony at their home stadium. Nearly a year after its last flight, the eagle will return to perform before Lazio’s home games. In January, following scandals involving the previous falconer, the club decided to terminate its cooperation with former falconer Juan Bernabe, but this also led to the suspension of the eagle release ceremony, which had been ongoing since 2010 and was particularly popular among children. Without the eagle, Lazio found it difficult to earn points at home: 5 wins, 5 draws, 8 losses. Lazio club has identified a new eagle and proudly announced this news on its social media. A new falconer will now be responsible for training the eagle in preparation for the home match release ceremony. This will take several weeks, and the first flight will likely not occur until 2026. The club also plans to hold a fan vote to let supporters name the new eagle. A similar activity was held in 2010, featuring a popularity poll on the official website. After several rounds of selection, the top three names, besides “Olimpia,” were “Libera,” “Victoria,” and “Skeygia.”
