[Saba Sports News] Following a disappointing loss on Friday, Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James was not inclined to entertain a reporter’s request for a comment. The Lakers had just faced a 127-113 defeat against the Memphis Grizzlies at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, marking their fourth consecutive loss.
Post-game, James was notably unenthusiastic in his response to a reporter’s question about the career of Ricky Rubio, who had announced his retirement the previous day.
“I’m not really in the mood to answer that question but I respect Ricky. Congratulations on a hell of a career. If I don’t seem sincere when you see this video, it’s because we got our a– whooped again, and I apologize,” James said. He added that the timing of the question was poor and that his response wasn’t a reflection of his feelings towards Rubio.
James’ frustration was understandable given the game’s outcome. The Lakers had been tied with the Grizzlies at 94 going into the fourth quarter, only to collapse later and lose by a significant margin for the third time in a row. Despite James’ strong performance of 32 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals, the Lakers couldn’t secure a win.
