[Saba Sports News] Lee Zii Jia, Malaysia’s men’s singles shuttler, has officially announced his withdrawal from the India Open in Lucknow and the end of the 2025 season. Since September, he has been troubled by back injuries, causing his world ranking to fall to 83rd. His last appearance was at the China Badminton Masters in September, where he had to retire in the first round against Taiwan’s Lin Jun-yi due to a recurrence of back pain. Statistics show that the 27-year-old has only participated in five tournaments this year. After suffering an ankle injury at the BWF World Tour Finals last December, he briefly returned in March, playing in the Orleans Masters and the All England Open, but then took another break. He returned to the court in August for the Paris Badminton World Championships, unfortunately lacking form and exiting in the first round. His performance at the Hong Kong Open and the China Badminton Masters also showed no improvement. The back injury suffered at the China Badminton Masters caused him to miss the three legs of the European tour in October, including events in Denmark, France, and Germany.
