[Saba Sports News] According to German media reports, former German goalkeeper Jens Lehmann was arrested by police for suspected drunk driving after attending a beer festival in Munich. Reports state that the 54-year-old Lehmann was spotted at the Munich beer festival last Sunday and was stopped by police outside the festival while staggering and smelling of alcohol. Since Lehmann was unable to blow into the breathalyzer, the test had to be aborted, and he was taken to the police station for further examination. The legendary German goalkeeper’s driver’s license has been confiscated as per procedure, and police are continuing their investigation into the case. Senior prosecutor Annie Ledin stated: “Around 1:30 AM on September 23, 2024, Mr. Lehmann was subjected to a police check due to erratic driving behavior in downtown Munich.” It was reported that police noticed a strong smell of alcohol on him and that he was driving unsteadily. The breathalyzer test did not yield usable results, leading to a request for a blood sample test and confiscation of his driver’s license. Our investigation is ongoing, and suspicions of drunk driving remain.
