[Saba Sports News] Liverpool has stated that the club continues to take decisive action against ticket resale activities, having closed nearly 100,000 fake accounts last season alone. They have issued 75 lifetime bans and 136 indefinite bans. The number of suspended accounts includes those canceled after investigation, as well as other accounts blocked from selling or entering lotteries due to suspicious online activity or being identified as bots. The club is currently reviewing suspicious activities of an additional 5,670 accounts, including individuals recently accused by Merseyside police of ticket fraud. Throughout the 2023-24 season, a total of 1,500 tickets have been canceled, some of which were mass cancellations, while others were provided by account holders who had already been penalized and were eligible for resale. The vast majority of lifetime and indefinite bans were due to violations of relevant terms and conditions, including unauthorized sales of season tickets, membership cards, or hospitality vouchers, reflecting the club’s zero-tolerance attitude towards various forms of ticket scalping. The club also reminds fans not to purchase tickets from unofficial online channels or sellers, as the number of deceived fans has increased, especially online.
