[Saba Sports News] Recently, Liverpool officially announced that the club has signed a long-term kit sponsorship deal with Adidas, ending their five-year partnership with Nike. The Reds will don Adidas jerseys for the upcoming season. Previously, Adidas sponsored Liverpool twice, from 1985 to 1996 and from 2006 to 2012. Many classic moments in Liverpool’s history feature jerseys sponsored by Adidas. The three-stripe designs from the early 1990s and several jersey designs from the 2010s are considered some of the most iconic styles in Liverpool’s history and world football. According to British media, Liverpool has signed a five-year contract with Adidas worth over £300 million. This sponsorship deal is roughly on par with those of clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City, which have agreements with Adidas, Nike, and Puma valued at about £60 million per year. The largest kit sponsorship deal in the Premier League belongs to Manchester United, who previously signed a contract with Adidas worth £90 million per year. However, it is worth noting that due to Manchester United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League and other underwhelming performances, some sponsorship fees may be deducted by Adidas.
