[Saba Sports News] Recently, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison, in a new video on his personal social media channel, discussed his recovery progress from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and revealed his plan to return before the end of the Premier League season. In the video, Maddison showcased his recovery process over the first three weeks post-surgery and documented his first return to Tottenham’s Enfield training base, where he interacted with teammates. He thanked his teammates for their support during his low moments after the injury. Maddison told the team medical staff that he would not rush his return but would ensure he is “fully ready” before stepping back onto the field. He plans to return to action eight months after the injury (around April next year) – coinciding with the final two months of the Premier League season. Maddison stated: “I’ve checked the recovery timeline – it’s usually eight months. The idea of six months is unrealistic. At this stage, caution is essential. I’m 28 now and will be 29 when I return, which is the peak of my career. I need to come back healthy. So, I won’t push myself – asking, ‘Why is it taking so long?’ But if, after eight months, I’m in good shape and the team is in the final sprint, maybe that means I can make it back for the end of the season.”
