[Saba Sports News] Recently, at an auction held during the Hungry Ghost Festival festivities in Taman Gembira, a set of signed final jerseys belonging to the Malaysian mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei sold for a high price of RM68,688. The item was originally a gift presented to Huang Weicai by Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei after they won the mixed doubles championship at the Paris World Badminton Championships on September 2nd, following their victory ceremony. Huang Weicai subsequently decided to donate it for the charity auction. The auction raised approximately RM210,000 in total, with part of the proceeds donated to 9 Chinese primary schools and 2 charitable organizations. Items related to sports stars often carry their honors and sporting spirit, and this signed jersey is no exception. Its high auction price reflects public recognition of sports stars and admiration for the sporting spirit, helping to spread sports culture, inspire more people to pay attention to and participate in sports, and carry forward the spirit of hard work and striving for improvement. The editor believes that by not only achieving excellent results on the court but also demonstrating social responsibility through such public welfare actions, they further enhance their personal image and reputation, setting a positive example for sports stars.
