[Saba Sports News] In the previous Premier League
match between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City’s
one-on-one chance was disallowed due to a controversial penalty decision. The
Manchester City players expressed strong dissatisfaction with the decision and
surrounded the referee, creating a highly debated scene that received media
attention. Although the referee organization later acknowledged that the
decision was an error on the part of the referee, Manchester City faced
penalties for their actions in surrounding the match official. Recently, the
Football Association of England announced a fine of £120,000 for Manchester
City. The fine was imposed because Manchester City admitted that they failed to
ensure their players maintained appropriate behavior in the 94th minute of the
match. Following the incident, many media outlets believed that Manchester City
had been unfairly deprived of potential points. Moreover, while the Football
Association acknowledged the referee’s mistake, the Premier League maintained
that it was a personal error and did not warrant the referee’s suspension.
