[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United has formally raised concerns with the Premier League regarding the congested midweek fixture schedule before Christmas. Chief Executive Omar Berrada has communicated on this matter with Premier League CEO Richard Masters, and the talks are reportedly “constructive.” United’s dissatisfaction stems from the recently announced broadcast schedule. Following the earlier move of their home match against Everton to a Monday night, the latest adjustments have also scheduled the home game against Bournemouth and the away game against Wolves for Monday evenings. Combined with the already confirmed midweek home match against West Ham, this means that from October 5th until Christmas, Manchester United will have only one Saturday matchday at Old Trafford. Manchester United is the only team facing three consecutive midweek Premier League matches before Christmas: at home against West Ham on Thursday, December 4th, followed by an away match against Wolves the next Monday, and then hosting Bournemouth at home just a few days later. Furthermore, the originally scheduled Saturday, December 27th home match against Newcastle may also be moved to Boxing Day evening. Sources state that the club sympathizes with the increased travel costs and logistical difficulties faced by fans due to the rise in midweek matches but also acknowledges that the club agreed to increase Monday and Friday fixtures as part of the new broadcast agreement.
