[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, although Manchester United’s performance this season has been unstable, the famous Stretford End at Old Trafford is experiencing a “visual and atmospheric revival.” The report states that a group of dedicated Manchester United fans has initiated a campaign called “Reclaim Stretford End,” aimed at recreating the intimidating home atmosphere of the 1970s and 1980s through large displays of flags and banners.
This movement began during the first match of the season against Arsenal, initially featuring only seventy flags made by fans at their own expense. To support this action, the club not only relaxed restrictions on flag sizes but also converted some executive seats in the middle of the stand back to regular seating. The fan group spends hours before each home game preparing the stand and encourages fans to enter the stadium fifteen minutes before kickoff to wave flags, allowing players to feel their support as they take to the field.
Manchester United players have responded positively, with Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha even promising to run to the flags to celebrate if he scores. Despite challenges like ticket shortages for away games and security checks at the entrance, this independent fan organization, dedicated to enhancing the match atmosphere through visual art and song, is working hard to make Old Trafford a formidable fortress that instills fear in opponents.
