[Saba Sports News] Yesterday, Spanish badminton star Carolina Marin shared training photos again. From the revealed images, Marin is actively undergoing rehabilitation training and appears to be recovering well from her injuries. Last year, during the semifinals of the women’s singles at the Paris Olympics, Marin withdrew due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee, missing out on a medal. Previously, Marin stated in an interview that she still wants to return to the court, aiming to make a comeback at the 2026 European Championships and challenge for an eighth consecutive title in women’s singles. Since this is Marin’s third severe knee injury, her road to recovery is long and uncertain. She also mentioned that she initially thought she might retire because of it, but after careful consideration, she felt that retiring under such circumstances would be disappointing. Therefore, she continues her rehabilitation training, hoping to return at the 2026 European Badminton Championships in Spain. At the same time, Marin admitted she would not force herself to compete, not wanting participation to become an obsession, revealing that competing is just an important goal for her. Marin is regarded as the queen of the European Championships, having won the women’s singles title in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2024, achieving an epic seven consecutive championships. In my view, regardless of whether Marin steps on the court again, her glorious achievements and fighting spirit in the badminton world will always be remembered.
