[Saba Sports News] The Ballon d’Or awards ceremony will take place at the end of this month. Recently, Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe stated in a media interview that he would not be attending. When asked who he thought had the best chance of winning the award, Mbappe named Ousmane Dembele as the most likely contender. Mbappe said, “I would be very happy if Dembele wins. He is my friend, and I have watched him grow throughout his career. I will be watching on TV, hoping he takes the crown.” Judging by Dembele’s performance, he certainly has what it takes to win the Ballon d’Or. During the 2024/25 season, Dembele delivered stunning performances, making 49 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 33 goals and providing 15 assists. With these outstanding stats, he not only won the Ligue 1 Golden Boot but also helped PSG secure their first-ever UEFA Champions League title. He was named the Champions League MVP and also won Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Trophee des Champions with the team, achieving a remarkable double of individual and team honors. Such achievements make him a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or, and it’s no surprise that Mbappe believes he deserves the award.
