Jontay is currently sidelined and under NBA scrutiny due to alleged irregularities with prop bets placed on him during two specific games, one in January and another in March, both coinciding with his early exits due to injuries.
After the Denver Nuggets’ loss to the Phoenix Suns, Porter Jr. addressed the investigation, stating, “I know what you guys know… I know Jontay loves the game of basketball… I highly doubt he would do anything to put that in jeopardy.”
Porter Jr. referenced Jontay’s journey, having spent time in the NBA G League before joining the Raptors on a two-way deal in December. While it’s expected for Porter Jr. to support his brother, his detailed response stood out amidst the ongoing investigation.
