[Saba Sports News] In a disappointing T20I performance, Mongolia was bowled out for a mere 15 runs while chasing a target of 188 set by Indonesia in the ongoing Hangzhou Asian Games 2022. Notably, this isn’t the lowest team total in international cricket history.
None of Mongolia’s batters reached double digits, with seven of their eleven players getting dismissed for ducks. Indonesia’s Andriani Andriani was the standout bowler, taking four wickets for just eight runs in her four overs.
In the match, Mongolia’s skipper Tsendsuren Ariuntsetseg chose to bowl first but Indonesia’s batters showcased excellent skills. Their openers, Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini and Ni Luh Dewi, put on a strong 106-run partnership for the first wicket. Dewi continued her impressive innings, scoring 62 off 48 balls before getting bowled out by Battsetseg Namuunzul.
Indonesia finished with a total of 187 runs for the loss of four wickets. In terms of bowling, Mongolia’s Mendbayaar Enkhzul, Jargalsaikhan Erdenesuvd, and Gansuk Anujin took one wicket each, while Tsendsuren Ariuntsetseg and Battsogt Narangerel went wicketless.
Mongolia’s chase got off to a terrible start, losing half their team when the score was just eight runs in the eighth over. By the end of the tenth over, they were all out for 15 runs.
Notably, this was Mongolia’s first-ever international cricket outing, and while this performance might have been disappointing, they will look to bounce back stronger in future matches to make their mark in the continental tournament.
