[Saba Sports News] Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has initiated legal proceedings against Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited. The lawsuit, filed in a Ranchi court, centers on a 2017 agreement between Dhoni and Diwakar to establish a global cricket academy. Dhoni alleges that Aarka Sports breached the contract, including failing to pay franchise fees and share profits.
Despite Dhoni’s efforts to resolve the issue and issuing multiple legal notices, the terms of the agreement were not met. As a result, he terminated Aarka Sports’ authorization on August 15, 2021. Represented by Dayanand Singh of Vidhi Associates, Dhoni claims a loss exceeding Rs 15 crore due to the company’s deceit and non-compliance. In a related development, Simant Lohani, a close associate of Dhoni, has filed a separate complaint against Mihir Diwakar, alleging threats and verbal abuse following their legal actions.
This legal dispute emerges amid Dhoni’s personal challenges, including a knee surgery he underwent in June 2023 at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital. His recovery and public appearances, including his interest in vintage cars, have been closely followed by fans.
In addition to his legal battles, Dhoni has been in the news for his personal life. He recently celebrated New Year’s in Dubai with family and friends, including Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant. Pant, recovering from a severe car accident in December 2022, was seen with Dhoni during the IPL 2024 mini-auction in the UAE. As Dhoni manages his recovery and legal issues, he continues to attract attention both within and outside the cricket community.
