[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, Paris Saint-Germain has requested to postpone their Ligue 1 match against Nantes to better focus on the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, but this move has been strongly opposed by Nantes. The report states that Paris Saint-Germain has requested to postpone their 29th round Ligue 1 match against Nantes, originally scheduled for April 13. However, the match date coincides with the first and second legs of Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League quarter-finals against Aston Villa. In response, Nantes strongly opposes changing the match date. Currently, Nantes is ranked 14th in Ligue 1 and is fighting for relegation. Nantes has sent a letter to all members of the French Professional Football League (LFP) board this past Friday, stating: “We learned Thursday afternoon that Paris Saint-Germain has requested the LFP to postpone the 29th round match against Nantes, originally scheduled for the weekend of April 13, to April 22 or 23. While we are Paris Saint-Germain’s number one supporters in the Champions League, we cannot sacrifice our league schedule in the closing stages for them. As is well known, the relegation battle is extremely intense, and we cannot imagine the LFP would harm the fairness and integrity of the league by altering our future match schedules.”
