[Saba Sports News] Rich Paul appears to be broadening his roster from current Los Angeles Lakers players to former ones.
According to New Orleans Pelicans insider Shamit Dua, forward Brandon Ingram is widely expected to join Klutch Sports, the agency founded by NBA mega-agent Rich Paul.
While Ingram recently parted ways with his previous agent, NBPA rules require a 15-day “cooling-off” period before he can officially sign with a new representative.
The 27-year-old Ingram has been a standout for the Pelicans this season, averaging 22.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game, making him arguably the team’s most complete player.
However, he was unable to secure a contract extension with New Orleans during the offseason, leaving the door open for unrestricted free agency if no deal is reached by June 30.
Paul and Klutch Sports have a reputation for negotiating massive contracts for their clients, and Ingram could be the next in line if he continues his impressive season.
Notably, one of Ingram’s star teammates on the Pelicans has also recently changed agents, though it remains unclear if Klutch is a contender for their representation as well.
