[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Ethan Nwaneri submitted his school assignment the day after making his Arsenal debut and scored 98 in a math exam. On September 18, 2022, Nwaneri came on as a substitute at the age of 15 years and 181 days, making his Premier League debut in the match between Brentford and Arsenal, becoming the youngest player in Premier League history. Less than 24 hours later, he submitted his GCSE English assignment at St. John’s High School in Enfield. His teacher revealed, “I’m not joking; Nwaneri walked into school on Monday and handed me his assignment, and then he sat down and got back to work. No discussions, no distractions. Nothing.” During the U17 European Championship held in Hungary in May 2023, Nwaneri studied diligently in his hotel room to prepare for his GCSE exams—with him was a friend and fellow youth academy graduate, Skelly. His father advised him that education comes before football. At St. John’s School, he would ask teachers for additional revision materials to take home. For the GCSE English speaking project, he chose not to focus on football but rather researched and presented a topic on conspiracy theories. It is reported that Nwaneri specializes in mathematics, achieving a score of 98 on his school entrance exam.
