[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, La Liga officials recently announced the broadcast revenue from last season, revealing a significant gap compared to the Premier League. The reports indicate that the Premier League leads in broadcast revenue, with Liverpool topping the list at £181.5 million, followed closely by Arsenal at £177.8 million. Manchester City (£171.5 million) and Chelsea (£169.5 million) both received close to £170 million, while Manchester United ranked 12th with £139.5 million. Even Southampton, the bottom team of the previous season, surpassed £110 million.
In La Liga, the majority of broadcast revenue is concentrated among the top teams, such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid. Last season, Real Madrid led the La Liga broadcast revenue with €157.52 million, while Barcelona followed closely at €156.45 million. Atlético Madrid lagged significantly behind with €108 million.
It is noteworthy that the mid to lower-tier teams in La Liga earn far less than their Premier League counterparts. Traditional clubs like Valencia and Real Betis receive only around €50 to €65 million from broadcast revenue, while smaller teams earn approximately €40 million.
