[Saba Sports News] The Pakistan cricket team embarked on their journey to India for the ICC World Cup 2023 on September 27. The traveling contingent comprises 18 players and 13 support staff members. Coach Morne Morkel is expected to join the team in Dubai, while Mickey Arthur will meet up with the squad in India.
The team’s arrival in India is scheduled for 8:15 PM (local time) on September 27. They will kick off their preparations with their first warm-up match against New Zealand on September 29, followed by a second warm-up match against Australia on October 3. Their official World Cup campaign begins with a match against the Netherlands on October 6.
Pakistan’s World Cup journey will take them to five venues, including Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru, each hosting two matches. The tournament’s climax will feature a high-intensity clash in Ahmedabad.
The much-anticipated Pakistan-India showdown is slated for October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where the tournament will open with a match between England and New Zealand on October 5.
