[Saba Sports News] Recently, the salary dispute case between Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain officially went to court, with both sides presenting their arguments. The total amount Mbappe is claiming from Paris Saint-Germain exceeds €260 million, with the most significant items including: €44.6 million for unjust dismissal compensation, €40.4 million in signing bonuses (including holiday allowances), €37.5 million for hidden work compensation, €25.7 million in statutory dismissal compensation, and €19 million in wages for April to June 2024. Paris Saint-Germain subsequently escalated its counterattack, claiming €440 million from its former captain. Two of Mbappe‘s lawyers stated after the court hearing that this “absurd, crazy, unprecedented” amount includes “the value of assets that Paris Saint-Germain failed to monetize,” as the player’s 2024 transfer to Real Madrid did not generate a transfer fee, whereas PSG paid €180 million to sign him from Monaco. It is reported that this €180 million is not an actual claimed compensation amount but appears in PSG’s claim as “loss of transfer opportunity.” PSG is also seeking another €180 million in damages for “breach of loyalty during contract negotiations.” However, these two allegations essentially refer to the same act; even if the judge rules in favor of PSG, these amounts are highly unlikely to be cumulative. The remaining claimed amounts include €60 million related to “loyalty in contract performance” – which PSG alleges Mbappe breached – and €20 million for “reputation and image damage.”
