[Saba Sports News] Paul George is officially entering free agency.
The Los Angeles Clippers forward is opting out of his $48.7 million player option, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. George is already arranging meetings with other teams but hasn’t ruled out returning to the Clippers. Only a few teams have the cap space for a potential max deal, with the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Orlando Magic being notable candidates.
So far, the Clippers have been hesitant to offer George a max contract and haven’t made significant efforts to retain him. It remains to be seen if their approach will change now that he might leave.
