[Saba Sports News] According to Motorsport.com, after months of negotiations, Sergio Perez is expected to announce a multi-year contract with the new F1 team Cadillac to return to the F1 grid in 2026. An official announcement is expected later this week. A key point in the discussions was the contract duration for the 35-year-old driver. It is now understood that Perez has accepted a deal covering at least two seasons, with an option for a third year. For the 11th team on the grid next season, this will provide stability after what is anticipated to be a challenging debut season. After a year off following his departure from Red Bull Racing, Perez is expected to partner fellow F1 race winner Valtteri Bottas at Cadillac. It is understood that the contract includes equal treatment clauses for the drivers, meaning both will enjoy equal status within the team. Perez is expected to be unveiled soon so the Mexican driver can immediately participate in the team’s preparations for 2026 and collaborate with Cadillac engineers at the new Silverstone headquarters. The Cadillac F1 team headquarters will be based in both the UK and the USA, and the car will be powered by Ferrari engines.
