The city’s public transport operator, SEPTA, announced last week that standard fares would remain unchanged during the World Cup, at $2.90 per passenger. This will apply to travel to the stadium. However, following a partnership between organisers and Airbnb, fans using SEPTA will not be charged when leaving Lincoln Financial Field after any of the six World Cup matches. Organisers stated that free return journeys from NRG Station will be available starting at halftime and will continue for two hours after the final whistle of each match. The stadium will host five group-stage fixtures, featuring national teams including Brazil and France, followed by a Round of 16 knockout tie on July 4, which also marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
