[Saba Sports News] German sports car manufacturer Porsche initially attempted to “marry” with Red Bull Racing as a shortcut to enter F1 but ultimately failed due to Red Bull’s unwillingness to lose control over the team. Porsche’s Vice President of Motorsport Thomas Laudenbach stated that F1 has become a thing of the past for Porsche, and they will no longer invest any energy into this project. Currently, Porsche’s professional racing layout includes WEC, IMSA, FE, and single-brand Carrera Cup races. Thomas Laudenbach claims this layout perfectly matches brand positioning needs. However, media believe that F1 undoubtedly has a higher impact in terms of events. It is understandable that Porsche gave up entering F1 without access to top-tier collaboration resources like Red Bull Racing; after all, relying on acquiring a mid-tier team to win an F1 world championship is incredibly difficult—Aston Martin is currently experiencing this struggle. Mercedes’ acquisition of Brawn GP was preceded by them being world champions just a year prior. In subsequent years, Mercedes invested heavily in talent and resources to achieve eight consecutive championships under new engine regulations. Some fans noted that replicating Mercedes’ history is very challenging; too many factors are needed for success.
