[Saba Sports News] According to Portuguese media reports, Porto president Andre Villas-Boas has offered a special position at the club to the widow of Diogo Jota. During a memorial service for Jorge Costa, Diogo Jota, and Andre Silva, Boas announced that Jota’s widow, Rute Cardoso, will take on a role at the club to continue a project conceived by the late player, involving a partnership with Luna, an esports team founded by Jota. Boas stated, “At Porto, he built something very special to him: esports. We are proud to honor his memory through Luna. Now, Rute will join the team to forever commemorate Diogo Jota.” Beyond his illustrious football career, Jota was also an esports enthusiast. He regularly participated in FIFA tournaments and created a iconic goal celebration mimicking someone sitting and playing video games. Since his passing, peers worldwide have replicated this celebration to pay tribute to him.
