[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, in the 2024-25 Premier League season, there were only 18 VAR errors in 380 matches. This number is 42% lower than the 31 errors in the 2023-24 season and also less than the 35 in the 2022-23 season. The panel reviewed all major decisions on goals, penalties, and red cards to determine if the on-field referee or VAR decision was correct. It is understood that the main reason for the reduction is fewer instances of missed VAR interventions in subjective decisions. In addition, the panel ruled that VAR should have intervened in the cases of Joao Pedro from Brighton against Brentford and James Tarkowski from Everton in the derby. Brentford was the biggest victim, with three incorrect decisions in their favor not being corrected, while Everton benefited from three mistakes. Despite this, some fans, especially Arsenal supporters, still believe PGMOL is biased against them. However, second yellow cards for Declan Rice against Brighton and Leandro Trossard against Manchester City were not reviewed by the panel. Last season’s changes in time management resulted in an average of 9 minutes and 45 seconds of added time per match, 108 seconds less than the previous season.
