[Saba Sports News] A few days ago, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a Real Madrid security guard has been charged with common assault following the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium. A 52-year-old female resident of Madrid, Spain, is accused of assaulting a stadium worker during an argument at Wembley Stadium after Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final. She was arrested that night but released after a few hours of detention. On Monday, she was formally charged with common assault by the London police and is scheduled to appear in court at Willesden Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 18. She has since returned to Madrid. The altercation occurred when stadium staff refused entry to several Real Madrid players’ family members who wanted to celebrate with the players on the turf. Mobile phone footage obtained by Spanish media shows the woman being forcibly restrained by several Wembley security personnel. It is reported that the woman is a Real Madrid staff member and was present to assist with security for the final. Real Madrid has stated that they will provide legal support ahead of her court appearance later this month.
